What is a traditional worship service at Faith like?

The traditional worship service at Faith focuses on God.  It is characterized by Biblical preaching, spirited singing led primarily by our Holtkamp pipe organ, and the weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

We believe that the body and blood of our Lord Jesus are truly present in and with the bread and wine of the Lord's Supper; our Communion table is open to baptized Christians who wish to receive the grace that God provides through the real presence of our Lord in this sacrament.

Our worship is supplemented by the vocal ensembles and string, brass, and woodwind instruments.  The sermons seek to challenge, uplift, and encourage you as you encounter God’s Word, helping you to grow in your relationship with God.

The order of service follows the traditional outline of the services in the Lutheran Book of Worship and Evangelical Lutheran Worship.  If you are familiar with standard liturgical worship, you will immediately feel at home in this service.  If liturgical worship is new to you, you will find the service easy to follow; the service, including the service music, is printed out entirely.

The style of music is a rich blend of traditional and newer hymnody.  Our emphasis is on a hymn’s singability.

Our worship follows the seasons of the church year: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.  Scripture readings, hymns, prayers, and the sermon reflect the season.

This service is attended by people of all ages.  Many of the attendees dress in business attire.  However, more casual attire, including jeans, is also quite common.

If you choose to attend the Faith traditional service, the service is held each Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
